A One-Day Retreat
November 10, 2019
9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
A small but mighty retreat in Amherst, MA at the tail end of the fall. After the leaves come down. Before the holidays. Before the snow. Spend one delicious day tending to your inner fires through writing, reflection, and connecting.
About the day:
The morning will be devoted to gathering, setting intentions for the day, prompted freewriting, and sharing our words out loud.
Few things are as powerful as reading our own words in the company of caring and compassionate individuals. We will be focused on the spirit of the words, not how “good” the writing is; this is not a traditional writing workshop so much as an opportunity to pause and go inward as the season changes (and we change with it). Fall is an especially rich time of year to reflect on what we’re letting go of, along with what we want to move towards in the quiet, darker months to come.
We’ll enjoy a leisurely group lunch at The Taste (Thai cuisine).
After lunch, we'll have a glorified naptime! Just kidding, sort of. You will have a chance to close your eyes, as Jena guides the group through a gentle, inviting visualization. This will be followed by silent writing time, and closing sharing and reflections.
What to bring:
Your favorite notebook and pen
Coffee, tea, or water, as you wish
Your sense of curiosity, openness, and humor
A favorite “fall” poem
