Solstice

Solstice.

The whole meal. The garden exploding with color and nourishment. The table set. Flowers from the earth in a vase. Air, water, skin, light, green, blue, fuchsia.

Solstice.

Feet, hands, belly, face, dive, glide, float. Slice, peel, juice, sugar, drip, last drop, bright moon.

Solstice.

A body waking back up. Remember that tingle, that electric shock, the jolt of desire, want, thighs, press, open, squeeze, climb, fall, rest.

Solstice.

Leaving taboo behind. Leaving shame. Leaving looking to someone else to make it better. Leaving lowercase. Taking it up a notch or three. Voice. Mouth. Speak. Sing.

Solstice.

Poem, verb, live, live, live. You, I, we, alive, here, world, canopy, star, branch, shade, bright, hours and hours and hours and hours.

Solstice.

Equal parts, equal partners in crime, the good trouble kind. Day, night, perfect, balance, singular, perennial, perineum, floor, root, earth. Here. Today. This. Us.
