Who should join?

Having a steady practice is the foundation for any writing life.

The Truth + Beauty Club is an ongoing membership community, designed for people who wish to stay connected to a community of kindred spirits year-round, no matter what else you might be working on or where life is taking you.

Membership is completely complementary to all of the other groups I offer. In fact, two of the three membership levels include a special coupon code to receive a 20% discount on ALL other online groups.

This is a place for those of us who wish to drop pretenses, take off our masks, and show up as we are, telling the truth of our ever-changing experience and knowing our words will be received without judgment.

This is a place where we will practice seeing the beauty all around us, while not ignoring the complexity and sometimes pain of being in this very difficult world.

This is a place for people who honor and respect the sheer range of human experience, and are devoted to living and writing with self-awareness and courage.

What do we practice here? 

1. Writing What's True

If there’s one thing I’ve seen over the years, it’s that writing begets writing. If there’s another, it’s that making room for what’s true allows us deeper access to ourselves and each other. That’s why the practice of writing what’s true is the heartbeat of the TBC.

The power of this practice is that we both acknowledge the impermanence and changeability of our days while also honoring what’s deep, rooted, and always present — our wholeness. And as readers, rather than offering advice or critique, we will bear witness to each other’s real lives unfolding.

2. Wordless Beauty

As writers, tuning into the other senses is an essential aspect of creative experience. Our club is a place not only to share words, but to elevate our awareness of the beauty of the everyday. TBC members dedicate ourselves to seeing with new eyes and not missing the beautiful moments that might otherwise pass us by in a hurry.

How It Works

A Simple Weekly Rhythm

The Truth + Beauty Club structure is intentionally simple and spacious.

We are over-saturated by things to keep up with. My deepest desire is for the TBC to be a place where you stay connected with your creativity, your spirit, your voice, your senses, and your community — no pressure and nothing to produce. Just a place to practice with boatloads of love.

Here’s how we’ll roll:

Monday mornings, Club members are invited to show up and share by using a single, deceptively simple prompt. Three secret little words will propel us to the page, to practice tuning into what feels true in any given moment. Set a timer for 10 minutes of freewriting or share just a few sentences; everything counts. Members may share at any time throughout the week. 

Friday morning, I’ll ask TBC-ers to share a photo from the week, allowing the images to speak for themselves and giving our thinking minds a place to rest.

No frills, no fuss. Just practice and presence.

Where Do We Meet?

The Truth + Beauty Club will make its online home on the MeWe platform, where we will meet in a private group. All you have to do is create an account and connect with me there.

Everything we share inside the group is visible only to other TBC members, and confidentiality is strictly required.
